July Holiday Programmes

Holiday Programmes bookings are now LIVE for 12th – 16th July!  We are giving priority to people on our database to get in first, before making any public and social media posts.  With good feedback from the April programme, splitting into closer age brackets, we will continue them these holidays.  All programmes will be running different programmes, and have different coordinators and leaders. Click on the links below see the activities for each programme:

Kids ReSync

We’re excited to share with you a new pilot programme been running with Rāwhiti School families. We provide wraparound therapeutic interventions with four families for half a day a week, for a full school term, with the focus of ReSyncing relationships with parent/caregiver, themselves, school and play. The work includes child counselling, parent coaching, occupational therapy, music, creating a family theme song and play. We’ve had really great feedback from our first intake in Term 1 and are currently working through a second group throughout Term 2. An email from one parent said “(The Child’s) confidence and self-esteem have skyrocketed over the past couple of weeks, and begun using open communication. The transformation has, to say the least, been stunning!” It is still in its early stages of development so we are now looking for a funder, donor or businesses to support the continuation of this pilot and allow us to open it up to other local families too. We’ve approached all the normal funding sources, so we’re now going public to see if there are other funding sources or people able and keen to leave a lasting legacy for vulnerable families on the east. Please contact the manager at: office@yat.org.nz for our full Term 1 Report and philosophy document. Feel free to share!
